Spiti Valley is one of the most dramatic road journeys in India – a high-altitude cold desert of ancient monasteries, turquoise rivers and villages that sit above 4,000 metres. Because the roads are long and the altitude is high, Spiti is a trip where a well-planned itinerary makes all the difference. This guide breaks down our Spiti Valley tour package, what it costs, and how the 9 days are planned.

Why the Kinnaur-to-Spiti circuit is the best way in

There are two ways to enter Spiti: from Manali over Kunzum Pass, or from Shimla through Kinnaur. We go in through Kinnaur and come out via Manali. Climbing gradually through Sarahan, Sangla and Kalpa helps your body adjust to the altitude before you reach Kaza, which sits at roughly 3,800 metres. It also means you see two completely different landscapes – green, apple-filled Kinnaur and the stark, lunar beauty of Spiti – in one trip.

Day-by-day itinerary (8 nights / 9 days)

The Premium 10N/11D version starts with a night at Chail (Chail Palace and Kali Tibba temple), adds an extra day in Kalpa for Roghi village and the local temples, and includes a full day of rest in Manali.

What does the Spiti package cost?

The price includes accommodation as per the itinerary, pick-up from Chandigarh, drop at Chandigarh or Kalka, and road transfers and sightseeing along the route. Travel from your home city to Chandigarh is extra – most of our guests from Kolkata take a train or flight to Chandigarh.
